 CHESHIRE GAME & ANGLING FAIR

5TH AUGUST 2018

''UPDATE''

Members should have been aware South Manchester Angling Club was going to attend this yearly event again this year. Sadly once again most if not all of the club’s membership for whatever reason do not feel they should attend to support their club.  It would have been encouraging to see at least one or two showing an interest after those manning the stand got up at the crack of dawn knowing they had to erect the stand then dress it with materials to attract visitors.

The preparation and production of materials took an awful lot of time to produce in sufficient quantities for the day, that included club information handouts, membership application forms, special membership offer handouts and lots of posters to display on the stand.

The manning of the stand this year was done only by Neil Bowden & Paul Hindley two committee members, this after those who normally attend and operate the stand were not available for various reasons. For instance, I was recovering from hip replacement surgery, Bruce your chairman had commitments he was not able postpone and the other regular Paul Jackson was also not available because of serious health issues.

Neil & Paul both agreed the day was very successful with lots of people very interested in what the club had to offer including a good number who signed up as new members who will I am sure enjoy the clubs fisheries.

I trust after reading this many more members will consider attending next year to offer their support to what is a very important event in many ways for the club.
