GREEN LANE - IMPROVEMENTS
Members who have not visited the clubs Green Lane fishery for a while should get themselves down there ASAP if only to see how the fishery is looking after the voluntary work done by a small number of members who obviosly care about how it looks.
This was carried out whilst I was on a fishing Holiday up north, several members some who I might add have only recently joined the club have done what can only be described as a 1st Class job in cutting the grass, hedges and strimming all other overgrown areas.
This work as indicated was done completely voluntary by these members week commencing 13th May in the evenings including on Saturday 18th May. The members for the record are Paul Hindley who apart from being on the club committee involves himself in most things the club plans from time to time, then two very new members namely Paul & his son James Worsencroft.
The fishery is a credit to their efforts and looks a picture that the clubs officers wish to say a big thank you to those concerned.
Sadly the work party on Sunday 19th at our Heron Pool fishery attracted only 3 members one being myself who because of a health issue had to leave early. The two members who carried on did manage to make one decent peg and start clearance of another but if this fishery is ever going to fulfil its true potential for the club and membership then we need more members to volunteer their services for a few hours on a Sunday morning when next we have another work party there.
Have a look at the following to see what can be done in a few hours by a small number of members!
